What’s in Your Kit

  • Reusable grow trays (2)
  • Compostable coconut coir pads (4)
  • Microgreen seeds (variety may vary)
  • Spray bottle

You’ll need: clean water, scissors, and a sunny window or grow light.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Prepare Place desired number of coconut coir pads in a bowl of hot water overnight to soak and soften.
  2. Place one soaked pad flat in each tray.
  3. Seed Sprinkle seeds evenly across the pad. Don’t overcrowd—aim for a single layer of seeds. You can used clean fingers to spread the seeds if needed.
  4. Mist & Cover Using the spray bottle provided, fill with water and mist the seeds until damp, then cover with a lid or another tray to block light. Uncover and mist seeds twice a day (morning and night) to keep them moist. They will begin to germinate and grow. Continue to mist and re-cover the seeds for 3-4 days to encourage germination.
  5. Uncover & Light Once seeds sprout, and microgreens reach about 1"-1 1/2" tall, remove the cover, flip it upside down and sit the tray of microgreens inside. Place the tray in indirect sunlight or under a grow light. Add water to the bottom tray to allow the roots to soak up water.
  6. Grow Over the next 5–10 days, your microgreens will grow quickly. Keep watering regularly - twice a day. If the water has not been absorbed yet, it's ok not to add more water.
  7. Harvest When microgreens are 2–3 inches tall and their first true leaves have opened, harvest by snipping with clean scissors just above the roots. This will take 9-13 days.

Tips for Success

Harvest just before eating for best flavor.

Living trays last longer than cut greens—keep them on the counter or in a bright spot.

For mold prevention: don’t overwater, and keep trays in a spot with good airflow..

Broccoli, Salad Mix, & Radish grow in about 10 days.

Leek grows in about 12-14 days.

FAQs

  • Can I reuse the coir pad? No, compost it after use. Replace with a fresh pad for the next crop.
  • Do microgreens regrow after cutting? Some, like peas, may regrow
once—but most are one harvest only.
  • How long will my harvested greens last?
3-4 days refrigerated in a sealed container. It is ideal to harvest as you go rather than harvesting all at once.
